RESOURCE: PNG Compression
OptiPNG: Advanced PNG Optimizer
"OptiPNG is a PNG optimizer that recompresses image files to a smaller size, without losing any information. This program also converts external formats (BMP, GIF, PNM and TIFF) to optimized PNG, and performs PNG integrity checks and corrections."

"Pngcrush is an open source optimizer for PNG
Its main purpose is to reduce the size of the PNG IDAT datastream by trying various compression levels and PNG filter methods without compromising quality."
On this date I have no idea how these work, but I am interested in trying them out to see if they compress well without degrading the image.

ArtRage is a really great, inexpensive alternative to Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, Corel Painter, etc. There is extensive information at this site, including a well populated forum with tons of user donated resources for the program. I bought it, it's only $25 US, and I love it.

What is the Adobe Exchange? Simply a place that many, many skilled artists placed files for others to download and use. Photoshop and Illustrator brushes, patterns, gradients, actions, layerstyles, etc., there are so many that folks should start their search here before venturing out on the Web.
There are libraries of files for After Effects, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and more, to be found as well.

NAPP - National Association of Photoshop Professionals
$99 a year US ($89 educational) - steep price for a membership site, but many benefits. Would be nice if there was a tiered membership for beginners, so obviously this is a wishlist item for me until I can generate some funds to justify getting a subscription.
